Hainan Island Carnival

Introduction & Highlights

If you're looking for two to three weeks of lavish entertainment in November, look no further than Hainan's International Tourism Island Carnival.

In this first class feast, made up of hundreds of different events, you won’t see Venetian masks nor exotic samba dancers. Instead, you’ll be able to get in touch with the tropical essence of Hainan, with its traditions and with the minority cultures you’ll love to discover and hear about.

Every year, Hainan gets dressed up to receive an avalanche of people attracted by the activities of the event, spread throughout different cities and counties of the province. As long as you’re in the mood to celebrate and mix with the locals, you’re sure to have a fun time.

If you’re the kind of person who loves sports, exhibitions, games, colourful and lively parades, this Carnival, sensitively co-organised by the Ministry of Culture and the People’s Government of Hainan Province to promote Hainan as an international tropical destination, is made for you.

Whether with your family or with your friends, you won’t be short of things to see and do whilst getting involved with Hainan’s local traditions. There’s also plenty of food and drinks on offer to keep you refreshed.

As one of the most important tourism events in China, Hainan’s Carnival has become an expression of how joyful, peaceful and open to the world the island is. Why not dress up yourself and come to join the party: Hainan’s Carnival is waiting for you!
